Worker privacy notice
This notice is for everyone who works at Rungwell: labellers, reviewers, trainers, team leads and staff, on site and through Rungwell at Home. It is also given to every new labeller in training, in English, Kiswahili or Filipino.
1. Who is responsible
Your employer (Rungwell Kenya Limited, Rungwell Philippines, Inc. or Rungwell Inc.) is responsible for your personal information, with Rungwell Inc. in Toronto, which runs Rungwell Tasks. Questions go to workerprivacy@rungwell.org, or to your centre’s People team.
2. What we hold
Your contract, identity documents, bank or mobile money details, payroll and tax records, health cover enrolment, leave, training and promotion records, and any disciplinary or grievance records.
3. What Rungwell Tasks records
Each time you sign in: the time, device and centre. For each item: what you labelled, how long it took, and the outcome of review. For each shift: your queue, breaks, wellbeing time and task earnings. We use these records to pay you, to measure quality, to plan work and to answer clients’ audit questions.
4. Quality records
Your accuracy on gold items, your review results and your calibration scores, by project. Team leads and the quality team can see them; clients see them only in aggregate or by labeller number, never by name.
5. Wellbeing
The fact that you took wellbeing time, and how much, is recorded so that it can be credited. What you say to a counsellor is not recorded by Rungwell. Counsellors keep their own confidential notes under their professional rules and share nothing with Rungwell without your agreement, unless someone is at risk of serious harm.
6. Focus Assurance (Rungwell at Home)
On Rungwell at Home laptops, Focus Assurance uses the camera during tasks to estimate your attention. The camera image is processed on the laptop. Rungwell receives:
- a focus score for each session, from 0 to 100, and a trace of the score over the session, sampled every five seconds;
- events: looking away for more than ten seconds, the camera covered, no face in view, or a second face in view;
- for an event that is reviewed by your team lead, up to two still images taken by the camera at the time of the event.
Scores, traces and events are kept for 13 months. Still images are kept for 30 days and then deleted, or until a review you have asked for is finished. Items completed while a session’s focus score is below 70 are held for a second review and credited when released.
Focus Assurance does not run during breaks, wellbeing time or training, and never outside Rungwell Tasks. Nobody watches a live picture.
We do not sell Focus Assurance data. Aggregate focus statistics for a project may be shared with the client as part of quality reporting. De-identified focus traces may be shared with a client for evaluation where the project agreement provides for it and the labellers concerned have agreed.
7. Who else sees your information
Payroll and benefits providers, counselling providers (your name and booking only), our auditors, and authorities where the law requires. Clients see labeller numbers, not names, except where you work directly with a client’s team and have agreed.
8. How long we keep it
Employment records for seven years after you leave, as tax and employment law require; Rungwell Tasks item records for the life of the client project plus two years; Focus Assurance data as set out in section 6.
9. Your rights
You may see the information we hold about you, including your Focus Assurance scores and events (under Me › Focus in the app), ask for corrections, and ask for a review of any Focus Assurance event or quality decision you disagree with. Write to workerprivacy@rungwell.org. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
